Gracias, merci, grazie, gratias tibi… no matter the language - thank you!

Thank you, according to Webster’s Dictionary, is a polite expression of one’s gratitude. And this week it gives my staff and I great pleasure to humbly offer our most heart-felt thank you for voting Pfister Orthodontics “Best of the Best” in the Medina County Gazette reader’s poll for 2021!

Wow, on behalf of my amazing staff, we truly appreciate being recognized and do not take this award lightly. We work very hard to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontics, keeping the patient’s best interests and welfare foremost in the treatment plan, as we work with the patient to produce the best cosmetic smile possible, as well as a functionally sound occlusion.

If I might beg your forgiveness, please allow me a few lines to tell you why this award is so special…

While in my orthodontic residency, I was offered a job in the largest orthodontic practice in Medina, but after two years, I left and started my own practice. I felt there had to be a better, more personal way to deliver orthodontic treatment to the people I grew up with.

We used an up-and-coming orthodontic technique out of Dallas, Texas, which was new for this area. My formal training in setting up cases for jaw surgery and our holistic approaches to growing lower jaws to avoid surgery were all new ideas for the area.

My staff and I have spent the last 37 years perfecting bone growing and teeth moving skills as technology continually changes. The addition of our 3-D I-Cat X-Ray imaging system can now show airway flow, predict onset of puberty, and can display 360 degrees of any tooth in any bone to predict impaction and help direct treatment outcomes.

Our Invisalign program now helps individuals reconnect with their smiles and feel good about themselves, without the encumberment of traditional braces.

Next month, for those who do not want traditional metal braces and are not Invisalign candidates, we will be offering a new 3-D printed polymer bracket in clear or white, custom fitted to the shape of the individual patient’s tooth surface. The custom bracket has been an idea that my Texas study group talked about 20 years ago, but milling in metal was cost-prohibitive. Now, with 3-D printing, it can be a reality for Medina. Efficiency and comfort, along with the possibility of a clear brace treatment option, has our office quite excited anticipating the possibilities!

All of these ideas are great on paper and research teams get excited about lab results, but what really matters to my Team and myself is that our patients get excited with their treatment journey and love their smile in the end!

Watching a young lady with tears streaming down her cheeks, smiling in the mirror for the first time after we just removed her braces, and saying she can’t wait to go to prom… well… it doesn’t get much better than that!

And getting voted “Best of the Best” in Medina County for what we love to do is like getting the “Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval” from your community. It tells us that what we are doing matters and the style of our Orthodontic practice is what the public has wanted all along.

On behalf of my dynamic staff, we again want to thank all of you, from the bottom of our hearts, for voting us “Best of the Best” in 2021!

With Gratitude,

Dr. Pfister & Team
